XADM: Access Violation Error Occurs When You Run ESEUTIL /P to Repair an Exchange 2000 Database That Is Corrupted

SYMPTOMS

When you run the eseutil /p command to repair an Exchange 2000 database that is corrupted, the Eseutil utility causes an access violation error and cannot complete the database repair.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, Microsoft recommends that you use the Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 version of the Eseutil utility (Eseutil.exe) and the Exchange 2003 version of the Ese.dll file to repair the corrupted database.
