Overview

The private view of My Site contains a personalized view of the portal site and of the documents, the sites, and the people that are found in the portal site. The private view contains content that is targeted to the user based on the user's membership in a particular audience. When a user clicks My Site to view their personal site, content that is targeted for the audiences that the user belongs to is displayed on the site. The Links for You Web Part displays links to items that are targeted to audiences that the user is a member of. The News for You Web Part displays news items that are targeted to audiences that the user is a member of.

To target content to personal sites, you must add the listing to the area that you want, and then target the listing to the audience that you want. Content that you add to the Targeted links of the My Site area appears in the Links for You Web Part. Content that you add to the News area appears in the News for You Web Part.
