SYMPTOMS

When a client uses Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA) to view a message that contains a unique sequence of characters, the World Wide Web Publishing Service may quit unexpectedly. Sometimes the World Wide Web Publishing Service may not quit, but other problems may occur. For example, Microsoft Outlook clients may not be able to connect to the server, or messages may become stuck in the queues.

Hotfix Information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article.
