SYMPTOMS

After you remove a domain from Active Directory in Microsoft Windows Server 2003, when you try to rebuild an Active Directory domain tree with the same name as the original domain, the HasMasterNC attributes for specific server objects that are in the Active Directory Configuration container are corrupted.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the removal of the original domain has not replicated throughout Active Directory before you create the new domain that uses the same name as the original domain.
