SYMPTOMS
When you try to use a Citrix client to connect to a Citrix MetaFrame or a Citrix 1.8 installation that is hosted on a Windows 2000-based computer, you may experience a very long logon time (from 5 to 30 minutes) before the Citrix desktop appears.
CAUSE
This problem may occur if Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 (SP4) is installed on the server that you want to connect to, and all the following conditions are true:
- You have Terminal Services and Citrix MetaFrame installed on the same computer.
- You manually configure printer redirection to print to a local printer that is attached to the client computer.
- You use the Citrix Independent Computing Architecture (ICA) protocol to communicate between the Citrix client and the Citrix server.
