SYMPTOMS

During a Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) search, the Local Security Authority Sub-System (LSASS) may cause an access violation.

The following event message may appear in the Directory Services log:
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: NTDS General
Event Category: Internal Processing
Event ID: 1173
Date: 7/8/2003
Time: 9:08:17 AM
User: User_Name
Computer: Computer_Name
Description: Internal event: Exception c0000005 has occurred with parameters 757b5954 and 0 (Internal ID 0).


CAUSE

This problem may occur if you have installed Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4.
