Bug #: 14082 (Plato 7x)

SYMPTOMS

You may receive an incorrect result of 0 for a certain measure when the following conditions are true:

  • The datatype of the base column of the measure in the SQL Server fact table is float.
  • The data storage structure for the cube in Analysis Services is MOLAP.
  • The All Level property of the involved dimension is disabled.


WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, you can change the data storage structure to ROLAP. You can also change the datatype of the base column of the measure to numeric or decimal.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services service pack that contains this hotfix.
