SUMMARY
This article describes the Microsoft Access 2002 (Japanese) issues that are fixed in the Access 2002 post-Service Pack 2 hotfix package that is dated July 18, 2003.
Issues That Are Fixed in the Hotfix Package
The following issue is fixed in this hotfix package but was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article.
- Error When you Select Several Japanese Characters in Microsoft Access Database Table and Press ENTER
When you select several Japanese characters in a Microsoft Access database table, type another character, and then press ENTER, you may receive the following error message:When you click OK to close the error message, Access may quit unexpectedly.
This problem may occur if the Furigana Control property is used in the field of the Access table.

- The optimized version of this hotfix is a post-Office XP Service Pack 2 (SP-2) hotfix. To install the hotfix, you must have Office XP SP-2 installed.

- The optimized version of this hotfix requires Microsoft Windows Installer 2.0 or later.

- The full-file version of this hotfix is also the administrative version of this hotfix. You can install this version of the hotfix with Office XP Service Pack 1 (SP-1). However, Microsoft has not tested this fix on Office XP SP-1 to the same extent as on Office XP Service Pack 2 (SP-2). If you install this hotfix on a computer with Office XP SP-1 installed, some file conflicts may occur. Microsoft supports this configuration, but we do not recommend this configuration.
