SYMPTOMS
When you click the Advanced tab when you view your network properties, you may receive the following error message:
Note To view your network properties, follow these steps:
- Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
- Click Network and Internet Connections.
- Click Network Connections.
- Right-click your local area connection, and then click Properties.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because of a damaged Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) database.

RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, use one of the following methods as appropriate for your situation.
Method 1: Restore Your Computer to a Previous Restore Point
