SYMPTOMS
When you view and change the configuration of the port properties on your Windows 2000 print server, the Spooler service may stop responding.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because of a timing issue with the TCP/IP port monitor. One thread releases the TCP/IP port monitor when a different thread is using it. Because the second thread must use a memory address that is not valid, there is an access violation, and the Spooler service stops responding.
