SYMPTOMS
Your Microsoft Windows 2000 Server-based domain controller may become slow and unresponsive, and then it may stop responding (hang).
CAUSE
This issue may occur when you set monitoring utilities to poll Active Directory performance counters at frequent intervals. This triggers a virtual memory (VirtualAlloc) leak in the process that loads and unloads the Active Directory performance counter DLL files.
