Internet Explorer Times Out While It Loads Web Pages If Norton Internet Security 2001 or Norton Personal Firewall 2001 Is Installed

SYMPTOMS

After you install Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 (SP4), you may experience one or both of the following symptoms:

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer times out while it tries to load a Web page.
  • Notifications of incoming calls in Windows NetMeeting are delayed by several minutes.


CAUSE

This issue occurs if Symantec Norton Internet Security 2001 or Norton Personal Firewall 2001 is installed on the computer.
