SYMPTOMS

When you receive an e-mail notification reminder, the date that appears in the body of the e-mail notification is in United States (US) English date format. This may cause misinterpretation when the language that is selected is United Kingdom (UK) English.

For example, when the UK English language setting is selected, you may expect the date 05/06/2003 to indicate June 5, 2003. However the date, formatted as US English standard, actually indicates 05/06/2003 as May 6, 2003.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because Project Server 2002 and Project Web Access (PWA) determine the date format to use based on the Locale Identifier (LCID). The LCID is determined by the language that you select in the Set my e-mail notifications and reminders link on the PWA home page.

MORE INFORMATION

To select the language option, click the Set my e-mail notifications and reminders link on the PWA home page.

After this fix is installed, the date format will be spelled out on all language versions of Project Server 2002 if the language that you select in the Set my e-mail notifications and reminders link in PWA is set to English. For example, the date that is listed in e-mail notifications and reminders appears as Jun 04 2003 instead of the numeric equivalent. If you select any other language in the Set my e-mail notifications and reminders link on the PWA home page, the numeric date format will be used.
