SYMPTOMS

When you run the Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Recipient Update Service to process recipients that are in a domain, you may find that the Recipient Update Service stops responding.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if you have a recipient that has an incorrectly configured SMTP address that does not contain an at sign (@).
