SYMPTOMS
When you try to remove a product update by using the Add or Remove Programs tool in Control Panel or by using the Spuninst command-line tool, you may receive an error message that is similar to the following:
CAUSE
This problem occurs because a product update may restore a version of a file that later product updates do not support. When you remove product updates in the incorrect order, problems occur because file versions are incompatible.
