SYMPTOMS

After you update to Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server Service Pack 2a, subscriptions to folders and to documents that contain extended characters do not function. This problem affects digital dashboard notifications and notifications that are made through e-mail messages.

Note Subscriptions to categories that have extended characters are not affected.

RESOLUTION

This problem was first fixed in a hotfix that is now contained in a service pack. If you have installed SharePoint Portal Server 2001 Service Pack 3 or a later service pack, you do not have to apply the hotfix.

This problem was first corrected in SharePoint Portal Server 2001 Service Pack 3.

This problem was first corrected in SharePoint Portal Server 2001 Service Pack 3.
