SYMPTOMS
You may remove the RfFiltExt filter from the ISAPI Filters tab of the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager properties dialog box or from the IIS metabase. After you do this, although Request Forwarding in the Application Center 2000 snap-in appears enabled, Request Forwarding does not work.
CAUSE
Request Forwarding cannot work if the RfFiltExt filter is removed from the IIS Manager properties or from the IIS metabase.
RESOLUTION
You must install the RfFiltExt filter (the Rffiltext.dll file) in the IIS Manager properties for Application Center 2000 Request Forwarding to work.
Note The filter is located in the Application Center 2000 folder.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

Steps to Reproduce the Behavior
- Remove the RfFiltExt filter from the IIS Manager properties.
- At a command prompt, type net stop acadmin.
- At a command prompt, type iisreset
- To open the Application Center cluster properties, right-click the cluster name, and then click Properties.
The Request Forwarding property page is still visible, and the options are not disabled.
