OFFXP: You Cannot Successfully Block Web Pages

Article ID: 820562

Article Last Modified on 4/7/2006

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Office XP Developer Edition
  • Microsoft Office XP Professional Edition
  • Microsoft Office XP Small Business Edition
  • Microsoft Office XP Standard Edition

SYMPTOMS

You cannot block access to certain Web pages through the use of scripting. If you click a link that has been blocked through an event procedure, the script runs, and then Microsoft Internet Explorer opens the Web page. The Web page opens even though the event procedure successfully processes the request to block access to that Web page.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs when the Discussion toolbar is visible.
