WD2002: Browsing Between Word Document and Web Pages Causes Word to Stop Responding

SYMPTOMS

When you browse back and forth between a Microsoft Word 2002 document and a Web page in Microsoft Internet Explorer 6, Word may abruptly stop responding when you click Back in Internet Explorer.

CAUSE

This problem occurs after you click a command button on the Word document that you dragged and dropped in the Internet Explorer browser window.

RESOLUTION

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing to further ensure product quality. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Microsoft Office XP service pack that contains this hotfix.

The English version of this fix has the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.
