SYMPTOMS

When you copy the sender's e-mail address from a received e-mail message, paste that e-mail address in the To, cc, or Bcc box of a new e-mail message, and then click Send, the e-mail message may be lost and not delivered to the recipient.

Note The e-mail message is retained in your Sent Items folder.

CAUSE

This problem may occurs if the following two conditions are true:

  • You use a personal store file as your delivery location for your received e-mail messages.


-and-

  • You send the e-mail message using Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.


RESOLUTION

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Office XP Service Pack 3.
