SYMPTOMS

After you migrate a Lotus Notes user to Exchange 2000, when you reply to a message that the user sent before the migration, you receive a non-delivery report (NDR) that is similar to the following NDR:

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

      Subject:  RE: Test 1
      Sent: 4/17/2003 1:01 PM

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

      'Exchange Connector' on 4/17/2003 1:01 PM
            The e-mail account does not exist at the organization this message was sent to. Check the e-mail address, or contact the recipient directly to find out the correct address.
            <mail.domain.com #5.1.1>

CAUSE

This problem occurs because when you migrate a user or a contact from a messaging system other than Exchange, and a contact with the same distinguished name (also known as DN) exists in the Microsoft Active Directory directory service, the X.500 address is not written for that user or contact.
