SYMPTOMS
When you try to install Windows XP by using a disk image, you may receive an error message on a blue screen similar to the following:
CAUSE
This problem may occur if you install the disk image by using a Remote Installation Services (RIS) server and you receive the "Setup is starting Windows" message.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2.
