SYMPTOMS
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services introduced a limitation on the number of open OLEDB sessions through HTTP for the same process in SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP3) to a single session. Because of this, some client applications might experience additional authentication prompts, or access denied errors if they use multiple HTTP connections to Analysis Services on a single client, or if they use a middle tier component to connect to Analysis Services.
With this hotfix, applications can retain the pre-SQL Server 2000 SP3 behavior by adding the string "Restricted Client=2" in the connection string for Analysis Services.

To resolve the problem, follow these steps:
- Install SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services Service Pack 4 on the server.

- On the client computers, install either PTSLite.exe or PTSFull.exe from SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services Service Pack 4.
- Add the string " Restricted Client=2" in the connection string for Analysis Services.
