You cannot delete a portion of a line by using the Eraser tool in OneNote 2003

Article ID: 818855

Article Last Modified on 7/27/2006

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Office OneNote 2003

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Eraser tool in Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 to try to delete a portion of a line, the whole line is erased instead of just the portion of the line that you wanted to delete.

For example, if you use the Pen tool to draw a large plus sign (+), and then you try to use the Eraser tool to delete a portion of the vertical line, the whole vertical line is erased.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the Eraser tool in OneNote 2003 works differently than the Eraser tool in other Microsoft graphical editor programs (such as Microsoft Paint). The Eraser tool in OneNote 2003 erases one whole line when you try to delete a portion of that line. If you use the Undo option, the last edits that you made are deleted.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1).
