A search for a user is unsuccessful when you type a space after the user name or the domain name in Identity Integration Server 2003

SYMPTOMS

After you create an Active Directory management agent, and you enable password management, you receive the following error message when you try to search for a user by using a Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI)-based search tool:

User name or domain name entered not found. Domain might be down or you might have entered an incorrect domain name or user name.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if you type one or more spaces after the user name or the domain name when you search for a user.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, make sure that you do not type additional spaces after the user name or the domain name when you perform a search.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
