SYMPTOMS

Unicode characters that are in a public folder-based message subject line may disappear, or may be replaced with the question mark character (?).

CAUSE

This problem may occur when the following conditions are true:

  • The message contains Unicode characters in its subject line.
  • The message is posted to a public folder.
  • The message has been replicated to another server that is located in a different routing group.
  • A user views the replicated copy of the message.


RESOLUTION

This hotfix does not replace any other hotfixes.

Restart Requirement

After you install this hotfix, stop and then restart the Information Store service. The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later file attributes) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.Component: Information Store
