SYMPTOMS

When you follow these steps on your Microsoft Exchange server to view the history of an e-mail message, Exchange System Manager may quit unexpectedly:

  1. In System Manager, you click Message Tracking Center.
  2. You click a sender and then click Find Now.
  3. In the results of that search, you open a message and then click Message History.
  4. In the Location row, you click an Exchange server.

Also, DCOM event ID 10009 may appear in the event log.
