The DELETE key in the Notes application does not work as expected

SYMPTOMS

In the Notes application, the DELETE key on the internal software-based input panel (SIP) does not work as expected when the drawing mode.

CAUSE

The RichInk control that the Notes application uses handles a BACKSPACE keystroke by deleting the character entry. If the control activates the DELETE key, the code skips the command and then moves on.

RESOLUTION

Use the BACKSPACE key to delete unwanted characters or a group of characters. You also experience this behavior with add-on hardware devices and with the internal SIP interface.

STATUS

This behavior is by design. It applies to all versions of the Pocket PC.
