SYMPTOMS

When you try to schedule an online meeting, you may receive the following error message:

Resource has declined your meeting because it is recurring. You must book each meeting separately with this resource.

Note This problem may occur although the meeting is not recurring, and the conferencing resource is not set to decline recurring appointments.

CAUSE

This problem may occur when you use Microsoft Exchange Conferencing.

RESOLUTION

Service Pack Information

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Office XP Service Pack 3.

To determine if you use Microsoft Exchange Conferencing, follow these steps:

  1. In Outlook 2002, click Calendar.
  2. On the Actions menu, click New Meeting Request.
  3. On the Appointment tab, click To.
  4. In the Select Attendees and Resources dialog box, click the conferencing mailbox, and then click the Resources tab.
  5. Click to select the This is an online meeting using check box, and then click Microsoft Exchange Conferencing.
