SYMPTOMS
When you disconnect from an instance of Microsoft SQL Server 2000 after you submit queries or transactions, error 1203 may be logged in the SQL Server error log. Subsequently, an access violation exception may occur. This access violation exception causes SQL Server 2000 to close, and an error message that is similar to the following is logged in the SQL Server 2000 error log:

Hotfix information
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, it is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing.
