SUMMARY

You want to add a shared printer to your broadband network. You set up File and Printer Sharing when you set up the network. However, you did not share a printer at that time.

Add a shared printer

Note Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.

  1. Open the Printers and Faxes item in Control Panel. To do this in Windows Vista, click Start[GRAPHIC: the Start button], type Control printers in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.


To open the Printers and Faxes item in Control Panel in Microsoft Windows XP and earlier versions, click Start, click Run, type Control printers, and then click OK.

  1. Right-click the printer that you want to share, and then click Sharing.
  2. On the Sharing tab, click Share This Printer.
  3. Verify the Share name, and then click OK.
