SYMPTOMS

Occasionally, all Terminal Services client sessions stop responding. In the console of the Microsoft Windows 2000-based terminal server, you can successfully open local programs. However, you cannot access any network resources.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the discovery cache on the terminal server is not updated correctly when the license server discovery thread runs.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, you must install Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 or the hotfix on both your Windows 2000-based terminal servers and your Windows 2000-based Terminal Services license servers.
