SYMPTOMS
When you try to install Microsoft Plus! Digital Media Edition, you may receive one of the following error messages:
CAUSE
This problem may occur if the Administrators Group does not have write access to the All Users/ Documents folder.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, the Administrators Group must have write access to the All Users/ Documents folder. To give the Administrators Group write access, follow these steps:
- Start your computer by using an administrator account.
- To open a command prompt, click Start, click Run, type CMD.EXE, and then click OK.
- Type cacls.exe "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Documents" /G BUILTIN\Administrators:F, and then press ENTER.
- When you read the prompt Are you sure (Y/N)?, press Y.
- Type cacls.exe "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Documents" /G System:F, and then press ENTER.
- When you read the prompt Are you sure (Y/N)?, press Y.
- Type cacls.exe "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Documents" /G BUILTIN\Users:R, and then press ENTER.
- When you read the prompt Are you sure (Y/N)?, press Y.
