SYMPTOMS
Some valid C code may compile correctly, and then may not run correctly. When you run the application, you may receive the following error message:
CAUSE
This problem is related to JIT Optimization. If you use the following statements to turn off JIT Optimization in the .ini file for the application, the error does not occur:
[.NET Framework Debugging Control] GenerateTrackingInfo=1 AllowOptimize=0
RESOLUTION
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0 service pack that contains this hotfix.

Steps to reproduce the behavior
Compile the following sample C code. Use the /clr switch.
main() { int i; int *j=i; *j = *j % (int)0x80000000; }- Run the application. You receive the error message.
Note If you do not use the /clr switch, the application runs correctly and you do not receive the error message.
