MORE INFORMATION

Following is the text of the application note:

Introduction

The enclosed Updated PostScript Printer Support Disk contains these PostScript printer drivers (and their associated INI files). The enclosed disk contains the following files:

Driver File —— —-

Updated PostScript POSTSCRP.PRD

Postscript Downloadable Fonts PSDOWN.PRD

Network PostScript PSNET.PRD

Notes on the Updated PostScript Printer Drivers

This updated drivers remap the single quotation marks used in typesetting to the ASCII decimal values 39 and 96. The original PostScript driver maps character 39 to a quotesingle and character 96 to a grave. The drivers on the enclosed disk map character 39 to a quoteright and character 96 to a quoteleft, providing single quotation mark typesetting. The updated drivers do not include the grave character.

Also, the updated drivers correct a problem with the original PostScript INI of Word 5.0 of leader dots not aligning correctly in some cases (even when monospace fonts are used).

PSNET.PRD is a network-safe PostScript driver.
