Summary:

The M/H Group TextCom program allows IBM PCs and compatibles to telecommunicate and convert the following word-processing document formats to and from Wang systems via the WPS Bisynchronous Protocol:

  • ASCII
  • DisplayWrite DCA
  • Microsoft Word through version 5.5
  • MultiMate through version 4.0
  • OfficeWriter 6.0
  • Professional Write 2.0
  • Wang PC
  • WordPerfect 4.x, 5.0, and 5.1
  • WordStar

Note: Word for MS-DOS format can subsequently be read by the Word for Windows file converter CONV-WRD.DLL.

More Information:

TextCom is a circuit board and software disk for the IBM PC and most IBM PC bus compatible clones. TextCom does not work on Micro Channel PCs.

A PC equipped with TextCom can be cabled directly to a Wang Tele- Communication Port or communicate via synchronous modems.

When cabled directly, a null modem cable (included with the package) is used. No other external hardware is needed.

TextCom can communicate at 1200, 2400, or 4800 baud.

Microsoft has not tested this product with Word for Windows, and therefore cannot guarantee proper functionality.
