Summary:

Microsoft Word for Windows version 1.1a supports reading from and writing to several word processing file formats.

Files can be imported by choosing Open from the File menu and choosing Insert File, or by using the INCLUDE field instruction. The Word for Windows Normal file format can be converted to any of the following file formats by specifying the desired format in the File Format field of the Save As dialog box (accessed by choosing Save As from the File menu).

Note: When using an INCLUDE field to insert the contents of a file, the must be used to specify the appropriate Word for Windows file converter (DLL) for all formats other than RTF, Microsoft Word for MS-DOS, or Microsoft Windows Write. If this switch is not used, Word inserts the file’s contents as plain text.
