SUMMARY
A running head that is formatted to print at the bottom of a page in Microsoft Word versions 4.00 and 5.00 will print at the top of the next page when printing to an Epson LQ2500 printer with a dual-bin cut-sheet feeder. This will occur regardless of the page length set with the Format Division Margins command within Word 4.00 and 5.00.
In Word version 5.50, the changes outlined below have been made to the Epson LQ2500 printer drivers.

The problem can be corrected by using Word’s MakePRD utility. To modify LQ2500.PRD, do the following:
Use MakePRD to convert LQ2500.PRD into a text file.
Load the text file into Word and page down through the file until you locate the four lines that read as follows:
byte:38 mod:0 “[Y^A” byte:42 mod:0 “[YR” byte:46 mod:0 “[Y^B” byte:50 mod:0 “[YR”
These lines should be changed to the following:
byte:38 mod:0 “[Y1” byte:42 mod:0 “L[^YR” byte:46 mod:0 “[Y2” byte:50 mod:0 “L[^YR”
Save the corrected file as unformatted and use MakePRD to convert it back into a binary file.
Note: In the Word 5.00 printer driver, byte:38 and byte:46 are already correct. Only byte:42 and byte:50 need the “^L” code added.
The Epson dual-bin cut-sheet feeder has an unprintable top margin of approximately 1.3 inches. To accommodate this, the page length should be set to 9.7 inches.
