Macro Command to Select Records in an Excel Database



The information in this article applies to:


  • Microsoft Excel for Windows, versions 2.x, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0
  • Microsoft Excel for OS/2, versions 2.2, 3.0
  • Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh, versions 1.x, 2.x, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0





SUMMARY

It is often necessary to select all the records in a database. If you select the area with the defined name, DATABASE, all the records plus the field names will be selected.

The following macro command will offset from the name of DATABASE to select just the records:


   =SELECT(OFFSET(!database,1,0,ROWS(!database)-1,COLUMNS(!database)))
