The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Project for Windows, version 1.0 - Microsoft Project for the Macintosh, version 1.1

SUMMARY

If you enter an actual finish date in Project for Windows that is greater than the scheduled finish date, the actual duration will not update to reflect the new finish date.

For example:

  1. Enter a one-day duration task starting on 1/1/92.
  2. From the Table menu, choose Tracking.
  3. Enter an Actual Start Date of 1/1/91 and an Actual Finish Date of 1/4/92.

Note that the duration and Actual Duration field are still at one day. The only way to update this is to manually enter the actual duration into the Actual Duration field.
