Half-Box Character Prints Incorrectly on PostScript Printer

PSS ID Number: Q70341 Article last modified on 11-02-1994

4.00

MS-DOS

SUMMARY

When using cursor line draw (CTRL+F5) with the lower half-box character (ASCII 220) to draw a horizontal line on PostScript printers such as the Apple LaserWriter, the line is either printed too short or not printed at all in Microsoft Word version 4.00.

To correct this problem, alter the printer driver, POSTSCRP.PRD or POSTSCRL.PRD, by making the following change to the Character Translation Table.

Change the following

220:""

to the following:

220:“\”

This problem was corrected in Word version 5.00.
