SUMMARY

In Microsoft Works version 2.00, names of months can be used as field names; however, when using formulas that make one field equal to another field and the name of a month is in the formula, the field name must be entered as follows:

=(fieldname)

If you don’t include the parentheses, the field contents will be the numeric equivalent of January rather than the actual contents from the January field.

Example

If the field called January has a total that you want to copy to the field called Summary, place the cursor in the Summary field cell where you want the January total and type “=(January)” (without the quotation marks).
