SUMMARY

According to AFGA’s CompuGraphic Division, the P3400 PS can emulate PostScript, Hewlett-Packard (HP) LaserJet Series II, and Diablo 630 printers.

The following is a list of drivers that can be used with this printer. Disk location refers to the Word 5.50 program disks. PRD files shipped with Word 5.50 are in a compressed format. Compressed files cannot be used with Word 5.50. To decompress the files, run Setup, choose “Modify an existing copy of Word,” and install the printer described below. After installing the new driver, start Word, open or create a file, and choose File Printer Setup (ALT, F, R) to select the new printer driver.

It is also possible to manually decompress the PRD file following the instructions on page 67 of the “Getting Started” version 5.50 manual.

Name of Printer Location or Emulation PRD 3.5-Inch Disk 5.25-Inch Disk ————— — ————- ————–

PostScript (generic) POSTSCRP.PRD Printers Printers 1 HP LaserJet II HPLASER1.PRD Printers Printers 2 Diablo 630 D630.PRD Printers Printers 1

Word version 5.00 PRD files can be installed with Setup or by copying the PRD file into the Word directory from DOS.

If the location on disk is listed as a kit, call Microsoft End User Sales and Service at (800) 426-9400 to order the appropriate supplemental printer driver kit.

Microsoft has not tested these emulations and therefore cannot guarantee the results.

MORE INFORMATION

The AGFA software needed to run the HP LaserJet Series II emulation is supplied on disk; however, it can be made resident on the printer through an installation procedure that puts it on the printer’s hard disk. Consult the printer manual for instructions on this procedure.
