Summary:
Some of the CD-ROM drives provided with the IBM PS/2 are supplied with the IBMCDROM.SYS driver dated February 7, 1990. This driver does not work correctly in conjunction with the Multimedia Extensions for Microsoft Windows and the MSCDEX.SYS file provided with the Extensions. An updated IBMCDROM.SYS dated June 1, 1990 corrects these problems. Obtain this driver from your IBM dealer or field representative.
Please note that the MSCDEX.SYS version 2.20 or later provided with the Multimedia Extensions must be used to run Multimedia Windows.
