Summary:

If a cell or range of cells are formatted with any custom date formats in a Microsoft Multiplan worksheet, these custom formats will be lost when the worksheet is saved in “Other” format. This is by program design.

More Information:

To custom format a cell or range of cells, do the following:

  1. Choose Format.

  2. From the Format menu, choose Cells.

  3. Select or type the range you want to apply the custom format to.

  4. In the “format:” field, type the symbols corresponding to the custom format you want to create.

    You can use any combination of format symbols and text to create a custom format up to 32 characters long. The custom format symbols are listed on page 128 of the “Microsoft Multiplan User’s Guide.”

  5. Press ENTER.
