SUMMARY
The OnTime command used in Word for Windows will not execute the specified macro until Word for Windows is given the focus.

The OnTime command in Word for Windows sets up a background timer that runs a specified macro at a specified time. The syntax for using the OnTime command is as follows
OnTime When<math display="inline">, Name</math>, [Tolerance]
where Name$ is the name of the macro to be run at the time specified by When$. If Tolerance is omitted or set to zero, the macro will run no matter how many seconds elapse before Word is idle and available to run the macro.
However, a Word for Windows macro will not execute this command if Word does not have the focus. It is not possible to use this command to run something if Word does not have the focus when the time to run the macro comes up.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word for Windows. We are researching this problem and will post new information here as it becomes available.
