SUMMARY
The Dynamic Drive Administrator program for Microsoft Mail for PC Networks (DYNADMIN.EXE) uses several command line options that modify the way a program can startup, what drive it looks for at the Mail database, and how the program appears on the screen.
MORE INFORMATION
Shown below are the Dynamic Drive Administrator program command line options and a brief description of their functions. Detailed descriptions of these options are given in Appendix C of the “Microsoft Mail for PC LANs Administrator’s Guide.”
Options Descriptions ——- ————
-C Used to force the Dynamic Drive Administrator program to display in color. By default it should display in color on a color monitor. This can be used if the program does not display in color on a color monitor.
For example, the following line will force the ADMIN program to display in color: DYNADMIN -C
-Dx Specifies what drive the Mail database resides on, where “x” is the drive letter assigned to the Mail database. ADMIN assumes drive M as the default. The “-D” parameter MUST be used if the Mail database is defined as any other drive.
For example, the following line will force the ADMIN program to access drive Q for the Mail database: DYNADMIN -DQ
-Fdd Virtual Drives Option is used for multiple post offices only and is mandatory if dynamic drives are to be used. It is used to specify the two drive letters that will be used when the External Mail program created dynamic drive connections to a file server.
For example, to specify that drives U and V will be dynamic virtual drives, include:
DYNADMIN -FUV
-P Allows you to bypass the password prompt when the Dynamic Drive Administrator program is started.
For example, if the mailbox name is JOE and the password is LARK, the following line will start ADMIN and bypass the mailbox name and password prompts and start the Dynamic Drive Administrator program: DYNADMIN JOE -PLARK Note: The Dynamic Drive Administrator program can only be started by a user with administrative privileges.
-SMONO This option forces the program display in monochrome.
For example, the following line will force the ADMIN program to display in monochrome or black and white: DYNADMIN -SMONO
-SS Forces the Dynamic Drive Administrator program to slow the video output and reduces “snow” on the display screen. It is especially useful for CGA adapters.
For example, the following line will force the ADMIN program to slow its display output to reduce "snow" on CGA video adapters: DYNADMIN -SS
