WINDOWS

Summary:

Running the Subscript macro in Word for Windows lowers the selected characters 3 points below the base line or the normal text line. However, the description given for the Subscript macro states that it “lowers selection 2 pts below base line.”

More Information:

To view the description:

  1. In Word for Windows, choose Edit from the Macro menu.
  2. Make sure Show All is turned on and select Subscript from the list of macro names.

Notice that the description listed at the bottom of the dialog box shows “lowers selection 2 pts below base line.” The macro actually lowers the selection 3 points below the base line as the “Microsoft Word for Windows User’s Reference” properly explains on page 349.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word for Windows version 1.10 and 1.10a. This problem was corrected in Word for Windows version 2.00.
