SUMMARY

According to Epson, the Epson ActionPrinter 2000 emulates the Epson LX-810, which is not directly supported by either Microsoft Works or Word. Epson recommends using the driver for the LX-800 (EPLX800.PRD) for the LX-810.

For further information about emulation modes for the LX-810, see article Q65802, “Emulation Modes of the Epson LX-810.”

The following is an emulation mode and its corresponding PRD file. The location on disk refers to the location on the Works version 2.00 disks. To decompress the PRD files, run the Setup program, choose to “Modify an existing copy of Works,” and install one of the printer drivers described below. After installing the new driver, start Works, open or begin a new file, and choose File Printer Setup to select the new printer driver.

Works 2.00 PRD files are stored on disk in compressed format and end with a CPR extension. Setup decompresses the file so that it becomes a printer driver file usable by Works and it changes the extension to PRD. If “Location on Disk” is listed as a “Kit,” call Microsoft End User Sales and Service at (800) 426-9400 to order the appropriate Supplemental Printer Driver Kit.
