Summary: When you sort by date, messages are sorted by the date they were sent, NOT the date they were received. This makes it very easy to overlook new messages because they may be sorted in the middle of the list if their date/time is wrong or they took a day to reach you. The problem of messages arriving “out of order” is caused by the following: 1. Wrong time on the sender’s system clock 2. Delays getting through EXTERNAL
